Monday's Cup-o-Joe: A Sunday Well Spent

If I could have a perfect week, it would include outfit selection before 8am, Sunday grocery shopping with purpose, and a completed to-do list every. single. day. A girl can dream, right? Although many of these things usually don't happen every single day, there are steps you can take to achieving any goal that you have! Are ya'll ready for the secret ingredient to a successful week?

PLAN! Plan everything. Write it down. Kill those trees with your post-it notes, planner pages, or old bank statements. Use Sunday to make your POA (plan of attack) and include things like picking at least 3 outfits for the week, 3 meals to cook, and 3 things that you've been procrastinating. Stick that paper on your fridge, your bathroom mirror, your laptop...wherever it will be in plain sight! If you haven't heard the old saying, "a Sunday well spent brings a week of content," I can confirm that it is very true. Remembering this simple sentence saves me hours and hours of staring at my closet waiting for a miracle and many moments of hanger where I regretfully resort to another grilled cheese for dinner. While I would like to say that I practice "well spent" Sundays every week (and I do not), here at LbS we're all about trying again. So, week, I'm trying again!

Monday:

- Outfit chosen.
- Dinner planned.
- Yoga flow selected.

Moving on.

Cheers,

Monday's Cup-o-Joe: Guilty As Charged

Shhh, I'm letting ya'll in on a few of my guilty obsessions. Enjoy the roundup!

1. // When I came across this article from The Atlantic, I knew I had to share. As if this wasn't a given, coffee controls my life and I really have no interest in having it any other way. (For example, I am writing this entire post with one hand because guess what has full control of my other one) As I explore my culinary talents, food has become a continuous lesson in healthy living and good decision making, however caffeine will ALWAYS be a staple in my diet. It's reassuring to know that there may be some benefit!

2. // On the same subject of addicting beverage options, I've recently discovered the magical effects of mint tea, both herbal and black. It's so soothing and has a little minty fresh kick. I think it would be so refreshing over ice in the hot summer months.

3. // This book from Nasty Gal Founder and CEO, Sophia Amoruso changed my life, I'm pretty sure. Although I am a proud advocate for women empowerment, I was not prepared for the moment I was perusing my local Barnes & Noble and came across #GIRLBOSS. The little pink book was sitting alone on a newly releases table and I thought "well, if this is the only one left, someone must be reading it." So I flipped to a random page, started reading, and not only went back to page one, but
became obsessedstayed in that store for another hour and a half reading 90 more pages. This woman is a genius. I totally recommend also binge reading this book. As a young professional, I found so many of her words to be encouraging, entertaining, relevant, and completely crazy (in a good way). In this phase of my life, it was a breath of fresh air to read of someone rising to the top through working hard and staying focused on their passion.
